CA Farm Management

GROUPS

ABOUT

California’s largest employers have long used self insurance as a way to beat the high cost of workers’ comp. Now groups of smaller employers can pool their resources to significantly reduce their workers’ comp costs with a Self Insured Group. A SIG can provide smaller employers with the same market advantages as larger employers.

California Farm Management Self Insured Group is a Non-Profit California Mutual Benefit Corporation, formed solely for the purpose of Group Self Insurance, under Chapter 8, subchapter 2, of the California Code of Regulations. Savings, safety programs, aggressive claims handling and – most importantly – profits returned to YOU are just some of CFM’s benefits.

Self Insurance is not new. For many years, California’s largest employers have used self insurance as a way to beat the high cost of workers’ comp coverage. Currently, there are more than 1500 large employers and more than 400 public entities self insured.

The law allows groups of smaller employers to pool their resources to significantly reduce their workers’ comp costs through a Group Self Insurance program.

Such a Group can provide smaller employers with the same market advantages as larger employers.

CFMSIG will help train your workers, supervisors, and foremen to implement safety programs that will keep your employees as safe as possible. Safety training can cut down on the frequency of accidents. If there are less accidents overall, there are less claims to be paid. That keeps costs low. Second, Implementation of safety measures can reduce the severity of accidents. These are catastrophic losses in which a worker is killed or permanently injured. Cutting down the number of severe accidents will reduce costs.

Safety Training for IIPP Program Managers, Safety Directors, Managers, Supervisors, Foremen and Workers is available as a Member of CFMSIG. Your Self Insured Solutions Representative will go over the Safety Program with you in detail as part of the enrollment process.

Self Insured Solutions believes that injury claims must be handled promptly, professionally, and aggressively.

Aggressive claims management starts the minute a claim occurs. It entails gathering information from supervisors and witnesses, getting a drug test performed, and verifying that the claim occurred legitimately and that the worker is due benefits.

It also means working with the medical providers to ensure proper, complete and adequate care while avoiding over-treatment and unnecessary procedures.

Self Insured Solutions only works with the best claims managers in the state – experts in the kind of hands-on claims management you need to manage construction and agricultural risks.

Aggressive Anti-Fraud Saves SIG’s on Claims

SIS believes that all legitimately injured workers should get the benefits they deserve, and do so promptly and without hassles. On the other hand, all fraudulent claims should be investigated, shut down, and fraud perpetrators referred for prosecution. To do that, we insist that any TPA we work with investigate any and all suspicious claims, perform clandestine surveillance on suspected fraud practitioners, and shut these claims down and seek reimbursement or even send those folks to jail whenever possible.
